Discussion:
[redis-db] Redis Slave Lag question

I'm using Redis 2.8 and seeing Slave Lag go into multi minutes during high
load on the master.

I've started looking at the replication settings, and coming up with a list
of items to tweak, but I'm wondering if it would make any difference
upgrading to a newer version of Redis vs tweaking 2.8.

Any thoughts/advice on how best to proceed?

Hello Ralph,

v2.8 is no longer supported - I strongly recommend you upgrade to a newer
version.

Cheers,

Ok. Is there an upgrade path to all the more recent versions? Any version
you recommend that improves replication specifically?

(Still going through the docs, but appreciate words of wisdom ;-)

Don't trust anyone's "wisdom", especially on the internets - always try
with scrutiny yourself.

* I'd upgrade to the latest (v5.0), but if you're weary go 4.0.11.
* Upgrades are straightforward as backward compatibility is (mostly)
maintained :)
