@Salvatore , how long do you intend to continue issuing maintenance updates
for 3.2? [Sorry if I have missed any announcements]
Thanks

Hello, basically the same of the past releases, we do this since the
start and so far it's working well:

1. We only provide support to the latest 2 stable releases, so it will
be Redis 5 and Redis 4 starting from 17th of October.
2. For serious security issues, we backport the fix to all the
applicable releases, as we did for the Lua scripting issues a few
months ago.
3. For very serious consistency fixes / data loss problems / ... we
backport to the immediately abandoned version (in this case 3.2) if
possible without big efforts.
4. We don't do any bugs investigation in 3.2 or older. If an user is
really determined to use 3.2, must show that there is an issue in
Redis 4 or 5, we fix upstream, and she/he can fix the problem back
porting the fixes.

Note that all this must be read from the POV of a database system that
is API and protocol backward compatible for years and years, so
upgrading is really not particularly hard, and people not having
problems with old releases (the majority) just keep using the old
stuff.

Btw Redis 3.2 is now 2.5 years old code.

Cheers,
Salvatore
